Boys Room

Inspiration

I'm definitely going to have Mr. Giles paint a dresser like this for me.
One of the many blessings of your husband going to Art School.
I love the look of it!
Plus, it will bring in the rich English heritage of our family.

I love the white headboards! They look so clean and fresh!
Also, I love how the shams and dust ruffles match the wall color.
Think I'll have Mr. Giles make the headboards for me too?
If not, I'll find old beds on Craigslist and paint them.
I can't decided between painting the beds white or navy blue?
What do you think?

Here are what Navy Blue beds would look like.

Love the matching shams and dust ruffles!

And here too!
I LOVE the navy and blue strips as well.
Very clean and fresh, like you're on vacation at the beach.
Reminds me of the 'Lands End' Bag I just got from Sears.
I'm thinking I'll end up making my duvet covers, shams and bedskirts.
I think it will be cheaper and I can choose the fabric I like.

Also, I'm going to use the Union Jack Bunting my Mother-in-Law
sent over for my Royal Wedding Celebration.
I'm either going to hang them across the ceiling
or with the curtains.

Here are some fabrics, I've been contemplating:

I love this large stripped fabric above.
It's on sale HERE for $6.98 per Yard!

Okay.... so that's my brainstorming for today.
I would LOVE your thoughts! Feel free to comment below.

  1. Blue beds... white will show every tiny fingerprint (I am so practical). Love the color scheme... similar to Dylan's bedroom with Red/White/Blue. He use to have pirate everything and now it's more of an "outdoors" theme. I so want to redo it just to freshen it up but he likes it just the way it is. He said, "Mom, what's not to love!" wish his arms thrown up, looking around the room.
The girls, on the other hand, have new ideas every week or rather every time Pottery Barn Teen arrives!

  2. That is SO cute! Great idea about the beds. I was thinking that too, but needed a confirmation. The crib and bed are white right now, so we'll be painting them blue in June. I'll definitely post pictures when I'm done. ; )
So cute about your girls... reminds me of Havilah and I when we were young. We've always loved to decorate! It's in our blood. LOL

  3. I LOVE it! My fav is the dresser. I can see it now! I think maybe putting the things from Elizabeth in big white frames with white matting would look cool. Five down the wall ... just a thought! LOVE YOU AND PROUD OF YOU!

  5. I LOVE IT!!! I think it's a great idea.....I have a fantasy of having a UK room in my house (you know that one I WILL own one day!) to keep a little of my heritage - I think it's really important. Love the dresser and I think navy blue beds would be best, especially for boys - it shows less dirt!

I would stick to stripes as the patterns can seem a little feminine, stripes work for everyone, very clean. cute and timeless (even though they are very 'in' right now!)

Cannot wait to see this in your new delightful house.....WOO HOO!
